Hi I'm Britney

I'm from a small mountain town called Rye, Colorado. I'm the oldest of seven kids. I love my family, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

Hi, I'm Britney! I am currently 19 years old. I just finished my first year of schooling at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. Although I loved the college life and meeting so many new friends at BYU, I'm glad to be home now in good old Colorado! I have lived in Colorado for most of my life, and let me tell you, it is one of the most beautiful places you could be! There are all sorts of fun activities that I like to do in the mountains up here such as hiking, running, skiing, and pretty much any activity that involves the snow. I also enjoy reading, scrapbooking, and anything crafty! I am the oldest of 7 kids. I have four biological siblings and two adopted siblings, and I love them all! When I go back to school I hope to become a nurse, and someday maybe even a nurse midwife.

Why I am a Mormon

I could go on and on for hours about why I am a Mormon! However, the main reason that I am a Mormon is that I know it is what God wants me to be, and I have decided to devote my life to him. Christ has told us to come unto him by repenting and being baptized in his name. With all of the churches and belief systems that exist today, it can be hard to know what is the way to go to obey Christ's invitation to "come follow me." I have found that the only way to find truth in the matter is to do just as Joseph Smith did, which is to go directly to the source, and ask God which way is right. James 1:5 states that "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, who giveth to all men liberally and upbraideth not, and it shall be given him." I have asked God on numerous occasions if Joseph Smith is a true prophet of God, if the Book of Mormon and the Bible are the word of God, and if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is our Heavenly Father's true restored church on the Earth today. Each time I have asked the Lord has answered my prayers with an indisputable yes. I am a mormon because I am filled with the love of my Savior whenever I go to church or attend the temple. I am a mormon because I know that through restored priesthood power, my family live together forever- not just until death. I am a Mormon because I gain more happiness from the knowledge the gospel of Jesus Christ provides than you could ever think imaginable! I would challenge anyone who is interested in finding more truth to contact the missionaries to learn a little bit more about what we believe, then read the Book of Mormon and ask God personally whether or not the things they teach are true. If you will do this, I can promise that God will give you your own witness as to the truthfulness of his gospel, and you too will understand why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

The main way that I live my faith is by trying to do the things in my life that I know the Savior would do. I try my best to follow his example in loving everyone around me. This includes my family, my neighbors, people in the community, and even the people who I run into on a daily basis who I don't know. I show love for others by serving them and asking how they are doing and even something as simple as smiling a lot! I believe that it's never enough to just live your faith in public, but it's important to live your faith when nobody is watching too. I live my faith in private by doing things like praying and reading my scriptures that will help me to come closer to Jesus Christ. Whenever I can I live my faith by sharing it with others! After all, I would be pretty ungrateful to my Heavenly Father if I didn't try to bless the lives of his other children by sharing with them what I know when He has already blessed me so much!
