Hi I'm Steven Goad

I dream of walking the streets of Mayberry and, you guessed it...I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the 42 year old father to three boys and three girls ranging in age from 2 to 19. I've been blessed to be married to my original sweetheart for the past twenty years and am looking forward to another 20+. I am a mail carrier for the US Postal Service and enjoy woodworking in my spare time. I was born in Oklahoma, raised in Kansas and now raise my family in Northwest Arkansas. I graduated from Bentonville High School and served a two year mission in Florida. I am currently working towards an Associate of Science degree and will graduate this fall. I am an avid fan of the Andy Griffith Show and count it among life's small pleasures. Road trips, Andes mints and home-made ice cream are some things that bring a smile to my face every time. I am a firm believer that simplicity is happiness and joy is found in the everyday little things.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the peace that it brings. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints contains the gospel in its fulness which means that I know who I am and what God wants me to do. It has helped me come to realize that my Heavenly Father loves me, watches over me and anxiously looks for opportunities to bless my life. I also know that Jesus Christ is my Savior, the redeemer of my soul, my friend and my salvation. He made it possible for a person as imperfect as I to return to live with my Heavenly Father and I look forward to the day that I can thank him in person. I many times think of that day when, as the hymn states, " When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation, and take me home, what joy shall fill my heart. Then I shall bow with humble adoration, and then proclaim My God How great Thou art". God is great! He sits on his throne aware of each and every one of us. He knows our pains and he feels our sorrows and our joys. He loves us individually and knows our every imperfection and talent. I believe he weeps for us, he laughs with us and that his heart aches for our return. He is my Father, he is your father and he loves us with a fathers love. I can feel him when I hurt and I find his peace when the world gives none. He lives. Jesus Christ is his son and he loves even me....and he most definitely loves you.

How I live my faith

My wife and I team teach a class of four year old boys and girls that both keep us on our toes as well as remind us of just how much they know concerning spiritual matters. Their humility is amazing. Their energy never ending and their innocence admirable. It is no wonder the Savior loves the little children. I also serve in our church as a home teacher. It provides the opportunity for me to fellowship other members of the church as well as do my part in forming a foundation of support for the families that we visit.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Steven Goad
The only fail safe way of knowing the truth of anything is to ask your Heavenly Father through sincere, heartfelt prayer. When done this way, you will have a firm knowledge of the truth and a strong foundation for your personal testimony of the church and the gospel to take root in. Show more Show less
