Hi I'm Laurie

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have never married. My nephews used to call me Mama Laurie. Mostly, I have been a caretaker in my family and others. I was a sales person last. I am no longer working. I enjoy many things: photography, crafts, good books, flowers, camping when possible, etc. Right now I am making doll clothing and dressing dolls to give away. I also make dolls.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always had a love for my Lord. When I was a child I prayed to go to church and learn more about Jesus. When the missionaries knocked on my door I knew they were sent to answer my prayers. I stood in the doorway so Mom could not shut it and begged to have them teach me. I have never had any doubts about the church being true because of the testimony I received at the time.

How I live my faith

It is very hard for me to go to church as much as I would like due to my health. I as much as possible and love the meetings. I have jobs in the church right now. I visit teach, this is keep in contact with several sisters in my ward. This allows me to know there needs and address them and sharing the gospel message. It also has made me many friends. The other job is checking on other sisters to see if they have had contact with the sisters they teach and find out if their sister have needs to be addressed.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

A testimony is a spiritual witness to you heart and soul from the Holy Ghost. You receive it from him and you share it with others. My testimony came easily and solidly when the missionaries came to my door. All that I have learned since has added to it's strength. It is precious to me. I testify to you that my Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ live and love me and you. they, with the Holy Ghost form the Godhead. That they return the gospel of Jesus Christ through the prophet Joseph Smith and continue to lead us through true prophets today. I tell you this in the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ amen.
