Hi I'm Jared

I grew up in a small town of Porterville, California. I'm studying human biology to become a surgeon. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a very easy going person and love being out with friends. Most of the time we love playing games, watching movies, or just hanging out at the park. I was an athlete in high school and still enjoy to play recreational sports. I'm studying human biology at school and want to become a surgeon to help improve peoples' lives. I've watched myself go from high school jock to nerd in a matter of a year. I've been blessed by my heavenly father who gives me all the talents and gifts I have. I grew up in the church and lost my way when I graduated high school. It wasn't until I was a junior in college that I started to come back to church and doing the little things like reading my scriptures and praying to gain a testimony of the gospel of Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of a lot of things. After reading the Book of Mormon and praying to know if it is true I felt great joy and knew that it was true and that Joseph Smith was God's prophet. When I started to come back to church I immediately felt that feeling like this is what I'm suppose to be doing. I was able to find forgiveness for all my sins that pilled up over my years of rebellion with help from my bishop and feel happy. The doctrine preach in the Mormon church made sense and when I pray to know if it's true I get a confirmation from the holy ghost that this is true. I have seen miracles in this church through priesthood blessings. The authority of the priesthood has been restored and worthy men can work miracles. One thing about the Mormon church is they encourage you to pray and find a testimony for yourself rather than just believing the people teaching. The most important reason why I'm a Mormon is because it makes me consistently happy. I could go all day about why I'm a Mormon but this will do and I encourage those that read this and are still trying to figure out if this is the true church to ask me questions you have.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by having an open relationship with my heavenly father. I pray to him often to receive inspiration. I also read my scriptures to get a burning feeling of joy and happiness. I do my best to honor the promises I made with God and when I fall short of that I repent. I really on Christ's atonement to find forgiveness from God and myself and redouble my efforts to be better. I get the opportunity of teaching the guys in my ward and pray for the topics that Heavenly Father wants. I spend a little time through out the week reading and praying about the topic that I feel inspired to teach. I like to bear my testimony to others and share of what I have learned to be true with those who are looking for truth.
