Hi I'm Helen

I'm happy, I love life and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a pretty average woman with an unremarkable life. I love my husband and sons and I love my job as a secondary school teacher. I smile a lot, sing often, read regularly, bake cakes, practise yoga and don't get enough exercise. Before I die I want to learn to play piano, speak Italian and see a whale.

Why I am a Mormon

I was a teenager when I became a member of this church. Looking back I can see I accepted a lot on blind faith. It felt right so it must be right. Now my faith is more mature. I believe because my faith has been strengthened by the many experiences I've had along the way. Prayers are answered and miracles happen. Living by God's laws brings peace of mind and real joy. I am thankful to have a living prophet to follow. The counsel he gives is current and I have found that when I take heed of his advice that my life is less turbulent than it might be otherwise. I don't have all the answers but I feel like I know where to find them.

How I live my faith

I've been active in the church for more than 25 years and in that time I have served in many different capacities. I have worked with the youngest of children to the eldest of aged and my favourite job is usually the one I'm doing at the time. I feel that being part of this congregation is like having a huge extended family. Its a very supportive community. Sometimes they need me. Sometimes I need them. As we have worked together I have developed love and friendship for the other members of the congregation. I attend Sunday services every week and that helps me to keep things in perspective.
