Hi I'm Larissa

I'm from Australia. And I am quite proud to say that I'm a Mormon.

About Me

So I've been a member of the Church all my life, born and raised in Australia. I must say, this fact alone makes me very happy. I'm a daughter, sister and an aunty, I love reading, and also the smell of bread. It wouldn't be odd for someone to find me in a bakery, holding a loaf up to my nose. And I really love going to the dentist - this may come as a result of the fact that my first job was as a Dental Nurse. I am currently preparing to serve an honourable and full-time mission.

Why I am a Mormon

Well, to quote a passage from the Book of Mormon: "And they rehearsed unto me the words of their mothers, saying: We do not doubt our mothers knew it." (Alma 56:48). I have not doubted the words of my parents growing up, neither have I doubted this gospel when I desired to know for myself. I never have, and never will. I have just been blessed too much, experienced and grown up with this amazing love in my life. This didn't mean that I was perfect, oh no. I have my failings. But what I love about this gospel is that as long as you strive to live it as best you can, those weaknesses become strengths, those failings become lessons, all directed at making you that person who you never dreamed you could ever be. And that is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Well, what really helps me live my faith is by attending church meetings, every Sunday. I truly look forward to Sunday's, as I cannot wait to see all my friends and family and also my wonderful primary class that I teach. I know that being able to teach my class has truly helped me grow, and being able to see the children's faces light up when they are touched with the Spirit just gets me, every time. Another way that I live my faith is by doing the basics: personal prayers and studies. I need the blessings and guidance that I get each time I do these things. For me, it is a fact of life. In this world we live in - with all the confusion and temptations - I need this comfort for my soul, this strength to my resolve, this knowledge for my benefit. I need the Lord, every day, every hour.
