Hi I'm Jaren Yates

I grew up in small town in southern Utah. I love food, family, friends. I'm serving a mission in New Zealand and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I was raised in big family, I being the seventh of seven children, got all of the hand-me-downs. I lived in Idaho and Utah until I turned 18 years old. I love to learn new things, see new places, grow and experience all of the wonderful things in life that our Heavenly Father has given us. My hobbies include singing, acting, debate, playing sports outside, and spend quality time with my friends. I LOVE my family and would trade any one of them for the world. I was called to serve a mission in New Zealand! When I complete my mission I plan to further my education at a university studying business management. I have a lot to learn about life but each day I learn something new and I love it!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a Mormon so I know a lot of what we Mormons believe, but I wasn't sure of it. I decided to find out for myself if what the church teaches is true. I prayed a lot and for actually a long time. My belief in the church didn't come as easily as I expected to come. When I read the Book of Mormon and really studied it and prayed about it I felt that it was true! I know things in life are hard, sometimes it's so hard that you feel you can't bear it. I have prayed to God and he has answered my prayers and lifted my burdens. I know this church is true and is guided my a living prophet from God. I believe the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true and helps me to live a happier life, and that's why I'm a Mormon. :)

How I live my faith

Once a month I get the opportunity to pick the songs we will sing in sacrament meeting and then lead my ward in music. I also get to visit special families each month to make sure the everything is okay in their houses. I just came from our young men's group where we would get together once each week for activities and we always would have tons of fun. I will soon be going to New Zealand on a service mission where I give up two years of my life to help others find the gospel of Jesus Christ.
