Hi I'm Lindsay Sorensen

I´m 20 years old. I love sports. I love to smile. I love my family. I´m a huge book worm. And I´m a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Lindsay Sorensen and I am 19 years old. It is rare to see me not smiling. I grew up as a member of the church and was raised by excellent parents. I have lived in many different places: Utah, Tennessee, Texas, Wyoming, Arizona, Chile, and Hawaii. I love to travel and I love South America. I just finished up my first year of college at Brigham Young University Hawaii and I believe that I am going to major in Psychology...who really knows what they want to do? I hope to be a doctor one day. I am currently serving a mission in Mendoza, Argentina. When I return I will attend BYU in Provo, UT. I love to play sports and am constantly involved in activities. I come from a family of seven, 3 brothers and one sister. My family is so important to me. They are truly the ones that are always there. Friends come and go, but families are eternal.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I want to follow my Savior, Jesus Christ. There comes a point for everyone where a belief changes to knowledge. This happened for me when I knelt down and prayed to know for myself if this church was true. There came a point in my life where I desired to know if the Book of Mormon was true and I read it cover to cover and I knelt down and asked my Heavenly Father if it was true. I testify that I recieved an answer through the Holy Ghost, an indescribable feeling of comfort. I can never and will never deny that divine witness that I received. I love this gospel and the joy that it brings into my life. I do not know where I would be today without that sense of direction. I feel that my relationship with my Heavenly Father has grown so much over this past year and I love knowing that He is there for me and that He loves me. I know that I am truly a daughter of God. This is the true church on this Earth, it is the only church that holds the authority of the priesthood. I know that if I strive to make every decision in accordance with the teachings of Jesus Christ I will find that one day I will be able to live with my Heavenly Father again.

How I live my faith

Well, I believe that faith leads to action. Over these past few years I have really come to understand what faith means. I live my faith by being willing and ready to act on my Heavenly Father´s will. I live my faith by making every single decision in accordance with the teachings of Our Savior Jesus Christ. I have grown up with many great examples in my life that follow the footsteps of Jesus Christ and I try to do the same. When I was baptized I made a covenant to be a witness of Jesus Christ in all things, in all time, and in all places...I live my faith by striving to keep that covenant everyday.

Why is family so important to Mormons?

Lindsay Sorensen
I have come to know over the years that families are so important. The moments that I cherish most in my life are those that were spent learning and growing with my family. The home is is the best place to teach, learn, and apply the principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We conduct family home evenings each week to strengthen our familiy relationships and to learn and grow together. Our Heavenly Father loves us so much that He gave us our families here on this Earth. I know that in a home that is built upon the teachings of Jesus Christ will not fall. I have been blessed to be born into a wonderful family. My parents taught us to love one another and to center our lives on Jesus Christ. Their examples have helped me set the high standard of how I will raise my family. Families are eternal and they really bring us lasting happiness. My best friends are my mom and my sister and those bonds can never be broken. I believe that the family is so important to Mormons because we understand the divine plan that God has for each of us and know families can be eternal if we are faithful and endure to the end.
