Hi I'm Ali Magidson

I'm a proud aunt, a convert, and am serving in the Utah Salt Lake City Temple Square Mission! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am serving in the Utah Salt Lake City Temple Square Mission! I'm the youngest of four girls and two of my older sisters have served missions in the Czech Republic and Ukraine. I graduated college, and after one year of working, decided this would be the next best journey for me!

Why I am a Mormon

I started coming to the LDS church with my Mom and 3 older sisters when I was 5 years old. My Mom was raised Jewish and admired the way her distant relatives were raised in the LDS church. She desired to raise a family the same way and started bringing my sisters and I to church. Growing up, I honestly wasn't very interested in religion. It seemed boring and caused controversy with extended family that weren't supportive. I was told I had to wait until I was 18 to be baptized. It wasn't until after my 3 older sisters and Mom were baptized that I made the decision to be baptized just before my 18th birthday. I'll never forget the overwhelming feeling of peace and joy I felt after being baptized and knowing that I was forgiven for the mistakes I made in my past. I was also comforted knowing that I could overcome ANY trial with faith in my Savior Jesus Christ. I know I wouldn't be the person I am today without this gospel. I know that this gospel is TRUE. I know that I am Heavenly Father's daughter and that He knows and LOVES ME! YOU are his child too, and He KNOWS and LOVES you! We are all worth so much to Him! He ALWAYS has His arms reaching out to us with an incomprehensible amount of love and will strengthen us in our weaknesses if we ask with humble hearts. By having FAITH and a DESIRE to learn, you can find this out for yourself too!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by praying, reading scriptures daily, attending church, taking the sacrament (bread & water), doing kind acts of service, and choosing to love others. I also visit teach. Basically I meet up with a few women from the congregation each month and offer to help them with whatever they might need and leave them with a spiritual thought. I want to become like Christ and develop His attributes of faith, hope, and charity. I find that by following His example, I can overcome temptation and better help those around me. When I have good thoughts consistently running through my mind (by listening, watching, and participating in wholesome activities) I also DO and SAY what Christ would. Everyday is a gift and I know that when I follow Christ's example, I'll find more joy in my life and influence those around me to DO and RECOGNIZE good.
