Hi I'm Kimberly Nelson

I laugh a lot. I am an avid whistler. I love my big family more than anything, and I'm a Mormon! :)

About Me

I was born and raised in Utah with my big mormon family! My parents had 8 kids (7 girls and then a boy) and also care for 3 ladies through a foster care program for special needs women. My favorite things to do with my family are cook, play games, ZUMBA, jump on trampolines, swim and quote movies! Not everyone lives near, but when we love any chance to be altogether! I've been going to college as a Family and Consumer Science Teaching major. Cooking and sewing and FAMILIES are my passion! However, I plan to continue my education by getting a Master's degree in Social Work! I just love people, and helping them find the joy and peace in their lives.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family with this gospel, but I have stayed in this church because of my relationship with God and Jesus Christ. When I was at my lowest point in life, things were really hard, but I was never alone. When I was 13 years old, one of my older sisters passed away in an accident on a mountain. It was the most difficult time in my life as I was still trying to figure out who I was. My rock suddenly came out from under me and I felt weak and broken. I didn't know how to cope. I wasn't always open with my feelings because I didn't like the awkwardness my tears would bring. Holding those feelings in was not good, and I eventually burst. I let all my thougts out to my Heavenly Father through pray one night and slept soundly with feelings of peace and hope. I came to realize that my rock never left, even though my sister did. I still had my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ who could relate to how I felt. Through much prayer I have come to know for myself that Families are Eternal. One day, I will see my sister again, and that will be such a joyous day! Although I have experienced the heart-breaking time of losing my sister, and others as well- I can testify that this gospel is the Good News! It contains a Plan of Happiness that is centered around the family! I am happier now than any time of my life and I couldn't have done that without this gospel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church meetings each week where I can partake of the sacrament. I have found that daily scripures study is the best way to find in-depth answers to questions. I have come to know Jesus Christ as I study the Book of Mormon, and I love it! He was such an amazing being that was driven by love and care for others. Each time I read I am looking for ways to become more like Him. I have never been happier. And lastly, I know that continual prayer to our Father in Heaven is necessary. That is where you can evaluate your life and ask to know how to improve, or just if what you are studying/learning is true. I am currently serving full-time as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Belgium and the Netherlands! I am learning Dutch, and I love the challenge and the chance to teach such a wonderful people! To put it short- I AM BLESSED
