Hi I'm Joseph

I'm from North Carolina. I am an athlete, Eagle Scout, High School student, and friend. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a missionary for my church right now, training to serve and share the good news of our Savior Jesus Christ with all I meet. I like biking, reading, and especially running-- I was a hurdler on my school Track team. I love my community and have many dear friends in it-- both in and out of my church. I have a wonderful family made up of people here and all over the country. I can speak Chinese and am a committed student. I am preparing to attend Brigham Young University after I complete serving my Mission. During these two years, I will speak the Vietnamese Language. I am excited to learn and love the Vietnamese people and culture.

Why I am a Mormon

I know Christ loves me-- he suffered for me in Gethsemane so that I might be cleansed of my sins and learn and grow during this mortal journey on earth and one day be purified, even as God is pure. I know God's plan is that families can be bound together-- we can be with the ones we love for all eternity. These beautiful teachings are clarified in the Book of Mormon. Christ's full gospel is outlined in the Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ, the record Joseph Smith brought forth by divine power, a record of God's dealings with his people. It was brought forth by a man called of God- a Prophet, Joseph Smith, who ended the long centuries of confusion and division throughout Christianity. The Book of Mormon is physical proof of God´s love for us and is proof that he still speaks to us. I have felt the Spirit of the Lord confirm in my heart the truthfulness of this restoration. It is because of the teachings of the Book of Mormon I know how I can get closer to God and understand how he loves me and will alwas forgive me. If you want to understand this church, or to learn of these saving truths, I ask you to read the Book of Mormon and pray to know if it is the word of God. I have. I believe God has not abandoned us-- he is once again reaching out for the salvation of all of us. The gospel is a testimony that God still speaks to men, and has restored his authority and prophets to the earth.

How I live my faith

The church is a minority but quickly growing in my area. The most important way I live my faith is by obedience to God's commandments. If you were wondering, a teenager who refuses alcohol, drugs, cursing, and and wild parties does draw some attention. Thus, I have many chances to answer questions about my faith. In my church, I helped lead a group of young men ages 16-18. I also served on a committee that organized activities for teenagers in the church throughout Northwest North Carolina. As I mentioned, I am serving a two-year Mission during which I will share my faith with nearly everyone I meet. I am grateful for the chance I have to serve God and help his children during this and all parts of my life. I am trying hard to love all my fellow men and follow the example of Jesus Christ. I truly believe developing selfless love is the noblest persuit of any man or woman, and it is one of my greates desires.
