Hi I'm Michelle

I'm a college student. A lover of learning, art, music, nature and European chocolate. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student studying Interdisciplinary Humanities and I love it! My emphasis is environmental studies and I'm fascinated by ecotheology and our relationship with our physical environment. I also love studying mythlogy, etymology, poetry and history. I'm the second oldest of five kids and I love going home and visiting my family. My dad grew up in Salt Lake City but, my mom is from Wisconsin, so although I grew up in Utah, I've spent a lot of time in the midwest. I love traveling! Last summer I spent two months going to school in England and also got to visit Scotland, Italy and France. It was a dream come true and I fell in love with the art, history, architecture, culture, and desserts of Europe. I'm hoping to get back there someday if only for a visit. When I'm not busy with school or work, you can find me reading, riding my bike, spending time with friends, flying kites, ice skating, hiking in southern Utah, watching international films and checking things off my bucket list.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the peace and happiness the gospel brings to my life. I know that God exists and that he loves me. That beings me so much comfort. He knows what's best for me even when I don't and he'll give me the best possible outcome, I just need to trust in him. I know that although life isn't easy, he's there and when I'm heartbroken and disappointed by something, he's mourns with me while at the same time arranging to give me blessing I couldn't even foresee. In the end, everything will work out the way it's supposed to and I can be happy now by knowing that.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by learning about the gospel through studying the counsel of modern-day prophets, and reading the scriptures. I love going to church on Sundays where I can learn how to apply the teachings of Christ and visit with my dear friends and fellow saints. I feel strengthened by their testimonies and start the week feeling refreshed and empowered to be better. I also live my faith by learning about my ancestors. Hearing about their sacrifices to join the church help me appreciate the gospel in my life and understand its importance.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

I know there is a God, because he answers my prayers. No one else knows my thoughts and feelings, my insecurities and worries, my hopes and dreams as well as he does. When I feel confused and alone, he finds a way to tell me that everything will be okay and gives me peace and comfort. He shows his love to me through the counsel of a friend, the beauty of the roses I pass on my way to school, the words of a poem or the happy coincides I encounter as I drive to work. Those little blessing help me know someone loves me and is watching out for me. Show more Show less
