Hi I'm Marilee

I'm the mother of 5. I am a football and basketball mom. I'm a community volunteer. I'm a Sunday School Teacher. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I love to be busy and between my 5 children and all of their activities, my husband, my involvement in my kids' school sports programs and my church calling, busy is what I am. Each day I strive to live more like Christ than I did the day before. I find the greatest moments in my life happen when I am with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church and am a 6th generation member but have taken the time in my life to be sure that I believe all that I have been taught in my life. When I was 19 years old I finished reading the Book of Mormon from cover to cover. I knew from the sweet, peaceful feeling I felt in both my heart and my mind when I prayed to ask God if the book was true that I was where I needed to be and that God loves and knows me, personally! I have been blessed with a knowledge of God's plan. It's not a belief the way it was when I was little but has grown into a knowledge that this church is true and that be living its teachings brings blessings and joy beyond my imagination. I am grateful that God has spoken peace to my heart, through his holy spirit to help me know that His teachings are true. I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (the Mormon Church) because I know its teachings are true, I know Joseph Smith is a Prophet of God who restored Jesus Christ's church back to the earth through the divine guidance from God. I know the Book of Mormon is a true record of those who lived on the earth before our time and that it teaches us how we can return, with our families, to live with God and His Son, Jesus Christ for Eternity. I know Jesus Christ knows me and because of Him, I am never alone. I don't know where I would be without my membership in the Gospel. It is everything to me.

How I live my faith

I strive each day to live my faith in such a way that others will know who I am and that I follow my Savior. I have the blessing of working with youth at church and in our community. I feel that the youth are our future both in and out of the church. I am so blessed to teach Sunday School to the 15 to 17 year olds in our ward and have quickly learned how truly strong the youth of the church are. I wish they could all see themselves they way I see them, as beautiful sons and daughters of God. I try to love them unconditionally, as the Savior would, to help them know they are of worth to Heavenly Father. To me, loving others as the Savior would if he were here is the way he wants us to live our lives. I know that as I do this I feel closer to him and know others lives are blessed, as is mine!
