Hi I'm Keeley

I grew up in a small town in Ohio. I love to read, draw, serve others, and have fun. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest of 6 children, which makes me the first of my family to go to college and to serve a mission. I am a sophomore in collage. I love English and psychology and I am still not sure which career path I will take. My hobbies include; drawing, reading, and being outside.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were members before I was born but were inactive for most of my childhood. When I was ten years old my youngest brother was born, and shortly after his birth my mom had a stroke. They were not sure if she was going to make it, my mom started telling people goodbye because she didn't know how she could live through the pain. They had to send her to a better hospital, but just before they did a friend of the family who was a worthy Priesthood holder gave my mom a blessing. By the time she got to the other hospital almost all the signs of the stroke were gone and she was stable. With out the power of the Priesthood my mom probably would have been gone that day. After a two year recovery we became very active in the church. As a matter of fact we have been active ever sense. This was the beginning of my testimony of the gospel. Sense then my testimony has grown so much it's hard to express. I know firsthand of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon and of the teachings of this church. I didn't gain that knowledge by being told, I didn't just blindly take someone's word for it, I asked my Heavenly Father and He answered me. Just as in everything else I have had struggles in building my testimony. But through every trial, every hardship, every regret I have felt the love of my Savior and Heavenly Father surrounding me and giving me strength. I am a member of this church because I know it is the only true and living gospel on this earth today. To have that knowledge and the faith to support it is the most important thing in the world to me, because through this testimony I know that I can be with my family forever and that those who I have lost in my life aren't just gone, I know I will see them again. I know this gospel is true, I love it, and I live it. I say these things in the sacred name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

Throughout my life so far I have had many opportunities to serve in the community and in my church. In the community I have been able to help out with various projects through the Mormon Helping Hands such as; painting fences for women's shelters, setting up for music and arts festivals, cleaning up after storms, and just helping people out in general. One of my favorite opportunities as to be able to work with younger girls at camp and help them to build their self confidence and learn how to work with others. In the church I have been responsible for setting up the chapel before services, planning activities, and taking care of the needs of my age group. Through these experiences I have learned the value of serving others and how it can have a profound effect in my life.
