Hi I'm Katelyn

I'm a public relations student. I'm leaving school to serve a full-time mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a sister, daughter, granddaughter and a friend. Most people say that I'm one of the happiest people they've ever met. I like the little things in life like a resolution to a chord in a song, just the right amount of peanuts in a Mr. Goodbar, and the way the word "zapatos" rolls off the tongue. Gotcha to say it. I am independent and I thrive on ambition. I love working hard and playing hard. I'm a public relations student wanting to specialize in international corporate negotiations, but I'm putting life on hold to serve an 18 month long mission for the Church.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a Mormon is such a huge part of me because it gives me answers, like who am I? Where did I come from? Where am I going? Where do people go that have never heard of Jesus Christ? What does Christ's Atonement actually do? What if we had a living prophet on this earth, what would Christ have him say to us? The doctrines of the church answer clearly every one of those questions, and I have learned for myself that they are true. The Book of Mormon clarifies many of the teachings about the gospel of Jesus Christ that are unclear in other scriptures such as the Holy Bible. I know the Book of Mormon is true just as I know that Jesus is the Christ. Having a testimony in the doctrine of this church helps me get through the tough things in life. I love this church and all the good that it does. We are a church of action. We are a church of faith. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Jesus Christ's own church and it is led by inspiration. I would not choose to be anywhere else.

How I live my faith

I live my life by what I choose. Everywhere around us there are choices, good and bad. Generally, I choose the good. I make choices that help to bring me closer to my Savior Jesus Christ. I love the feeling of positive, uplifting music or speech, which makes Sundays my favorite days of the week. Every Sunday at church I learn more about the gospel of Jesus Christ. I sing hymns of praise and gratitude to Him. I listen to speakers and church leaders inspired to give us just the right message. Not only do I have a favorite day of the week, but I also have a favorite time of the day: when I make time to pray to my Heavenly Father and read His words from the Book of Mormon, the Holy Bible and other scripture passages. Daily prayer and daily scripture study give me strength and power to make good choices and to help me feel what my Heavenly Father wants for me. I love participating in church activities and serving those around me. I want to be Jesus' hands if He were here on the earth. I want to serve others as he would serve. I know my mission will give me an amazing opportunity to do just that.
