Hi I'm Jackie

I was born in California, but moved to Minnesota when i was 3. I love talking with people and laughing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student who will be serving a mission in the California, Oakland/San Francisco Mission for the next 18 months! I love being active outdoors. Fishing and rock climbing are top hobbies of mine, but I love smiling and laughing as well. I enjoy hearing about other people's lives and I hope to come back from my mission to finish up 3 remaining semesters and graduate with a bachelors in sociology. With that degree i look forward to working with people in social work, or wherever the Lord takes me!

Why I am a Mormon

I've chosen to be a Mormon because of my knowledge of the church and restoration of the gospel. When i was 14 I didnt know what the book of Mormon really was. I hadn't read more than 5 chapters total. I knew it was a big part of the "Mormon Church" but it wasnt until I decided to pray on my knees and ask for understanding that i gained a testimony. I learned for myself what the book of Mormon was, and how I could use it's teachings in my life. I now know with all my heart that the Book of Mormon is the word of God, and through Joseph Smith's translation of the book, I can grow closer to my Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

For the next 18 months I will be living my faith through teaching people about the restored gospel of Jesus Christ as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Last summer i had the opportunity to teach the youth of the Church as a youth counselor in a summer program called EFY. I had the time of my life sharing my testimony of the Lord with youth ages 14-18, and I hope to find those who are searching for truth in California!

In whom should we have faith?

Jackie
Christ, of course! We can come unto our Father in Heaven by first gaining proper faith in His son, Jesus Christ. Even if you feel you dont have faith in Jesus, begin to read the scriptures, and start with a desire to have faith. Pray for strength and more faith, and I promise, the Lord will guide you, and you will grow closer to both God, and Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
