Hi I'm Jessica Harris

I'm from Utah. love my family. I'm a missionary in the Illinois Chicago Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah and lived with my parents and my younger brother and sister. After I graduated high school I went to Utah State University where I studied psychology and family consumer human development, and I loved every minute of it. I want to be a psychologist or a family and marriage therapist because I love helping people and I want to make a difference. I am now taking a break from school and I'm a missionary in the Illinois Chicago mission, and it brings so much joy to me.There is no greater joy to me than watching others become closer to Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised into the church, but when I was younger I just depended on the testimony of those around me. But I came to a point in my life where I needed to know for myself if the church was true, not just because others told me it was. So I prayed to know if the Book of Mormon and the church were true, and I received an answer that they were through experiences that God put in my life and the peace and joy that I felt after I had prayed for an answer. That's what I love so much about the church, that we don't have to depend on what others tell us but instead we can pray to God to get answers for ourselves, and God really DOES answer our prayers because he loves us. Being a Mormon isn't always easy, but it's worth it. As I've grown up I've come to realize that you cannot find true happiness and peace in worldly pursuits, but only through following God could you find this true joy. I love the happiness I feel as I follow the gospel and I know it's the only way to TRUE happiness.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by following Jesus Christ's example and doing what he would want me to do. I find so much happiness and peace in my life as I do this, so I want to share the message of Jesus Christ with everyone, which is why I'm serving a mission in Chicago! As I invite others to come unto Christ, it really builds my own faith and testimony.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Jessica Harris
Mormons believe that the family is central to God's plan. It is so essential which is why Satan is attacking it so hard. A family is to build each other up and help each other to return to live with our Heavenly Father again. Families are to love and care for each other and to be a place that can offer a refuge for the world. We can live together forever as families as we are sealed in the temple and live worthy of our covenants. Show more Show less
