Hi I'm Tyler

I grew up in northern Chicagoland. I am one of seven children and love to sing, dance, and act...and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am a college-aged student right now, having just completed my freshman year of college. In high school I did theatre, choir, and show choir. I am the second oldest of seven children. I like watching movies, playing games, and doing just about anything that is wholesome and fun!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of this church for many reasons. Despite the fact that I was born into the church, I was always drawn to the fellowship and kindness of my fellow ward members. There always seemed to be someone watching out for me and wanting to brighten my day. As I got older, however, I realized that I needed to know whether or not the church was true. As many have done, I decided to pray to know the truth. One day, when I was about 13, I prayed to know whether the church was true for many nights. One night, while I was praying, I felt an amazing feeling of joy and comfort come to my mind. I knew that this could only have been by the Holy Spirit, testifying of the truth of the church to me. After this experience, my testimony continued to grow until it is where it is today. From my experience then, I have a strong testimony of the Holy Ghost and of the existence of our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ. I know that they live, that they do in fact minister to us, and that they love us so much and want us to return to them. I have a testimony that the principles of righteousness taught in this church are taught to us for our benefit. I have come to know that these principles of righteous living are what make us truly happy and that wickedness will always lead to misery. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet and that the revelations he received are from God. I know that the Bible and the Book of Mormon are true, for they teach the word of God. I know without a doubt that the prophets and apostles who lead our church today are ordained of God. Whenever they speak to us I can feel the spirit eminate from their words, testifying that what they say is true. I know that this church is true, and that is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I had the opportunity to be a member of the National Honors Society in high school, which gave me a ton of service opportunities to participate in around the community. In my church I have served in various callings, including leadership roles in the youth organizations, teaching roles in Sunday School classes, and visiting certain ward members in a monthly basis and helping them in any ways necessary (hometeaching).
