Hi I'm Trevor Maughan

I am a College Basketball player who is currently taking a break serving in the England Manchester Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I played College Basketball this past year in Utah, it was one of the most fun experiences of my life that I hope to continue after my mission. I love watching all sports especially basketball and american football. My favorite basketball player/athlete is 3 time NBA Champion Dwyane Wade.. I used to watch Youtube videos for hours each week of him before my mission. I'm a LeBron fan as well. My little brother will soon be playing College Baseball.. sports are a HUGE part of our family and we've been able to travel and spend a lot of time together as a family because of it. I am the oldest of 4 kids, with 2 younger brothers and 1 younger sister. When I am not busy I love playing Call of Duty with my friends Braxton, Dez, and Travon. I'm on a mission right now in England and am currently serving in the blessed land of Chorley. I've been out a little over a year now. I've learned so many things and had so many great experiences as a missionary. Sharing the gospel everyday is amazing! There have been many challenges as well but the good definitely out ways the bad!

Why I am a Mormon

The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints is the one true church on the Earth today. It brings so much peace to my life each and every day. Knowing what happened in our Pre-Earth life, why we are here on Earth, and what will happen after we pass away is a great blessing. The Book of Mormon is true, written by ancient prophets called of God and translated by the Prophet Joseph Smith so we could have it with us today. I don't think there is anything else in the world that could pull me away from Basketball for 2 years, except going on a mission and sharing this message with others, and giving them the peace that I have felt in my life. The one thing I love about the church is that there is nobody that it doesn't apply to, the gospel is for anyone and everyone. I can promise that the principles the gospel teaches bring more happiness than anything else in the world. The gospel has blessed me so much! It's kept me safe physically and spiritually. I wouldn't be who or where I am without it.

How I live my faith

I was involved in a student ward up at college which was a great opportunity for me. I was called to be a teacher in Sunday school where I taught lessons once a month. I was asked to speak multiple times after receiving my mission call, it was a very fun and spiritual time for me going to college in Utah, and being surrounded by such great examples. Choosing the right and leading by example are some of the best ways to share the gospel, people see the way we live and the happiness that comes from it. I've found that people will always respect you for honoring your faith in any situation. I currently have the opportunity to share and live my faith each day as I serve my mission here in England. I have the chance to talk to many people each day about my faith. It's one thing to believe it and another thing to Live it.
