Hi I'm Sarah

I live in Japan. I fancy writing and photography. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been fortunate to live an eclectic life. My family is in the Military so we have trudged through dozens of moves, ranging from across the country to across the world. Additionally, we've had the opportunity to travel to other various countries. Needless to say, I love traveling (and I've successfully mastered the skill of packing suitcases and navigating airports). Currently I'm a college student studying... something. I love photography and writing, I'm passionate about helping others and learning about medicine, and I adore teaching. I'm not sure what profession all of that could fall under, but until then, I'm having fun figuring it all out.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I know it's true. Growing up in a world where my individual worth is trampled on and trials quickly pile up at the door, it was natural for me to look for peace and comfort. I shuffled through various methods: I immersed myself in sports and buried myself in studying and extra curricular, but none of that could help me for very long. I turned to Christ and found what I was looking for. I studied the scriptures, I pondered the things I read, and I prayed to know the truth in the world. Today, I have a testimony that Jesus Christ is the son of our Heavenly Father. He came to earth to teach and ultimately atone for the sins of the world and to give His life for us. I know that through Christ's atonement I can live with my Heavenly Father again. I have a testimony of the restoration of Christ's church through Joseph Smith. I know that Joseph Smith saw God, the Father, and his son, Jesus Christ, and was commanded to restore the true church to the world. This knowledge has brought me the greatest peace and safety in my life. Likewise, I know that I am a daughter of God. I know that because of Christ's sacrifice and the restoration of His church, along with the laws and ordinances of the Gospel, I can become perfect, as They are. This knowledge of my divine nature has given me so much power, and I hope others can find this same knowledge.

How I live my faith

I've held a handful of callings in the church including President and other presiding offices in the young women's organization when I lived in California and Japan; however, most recently, I was the Sunday School teacher in my young singles adult ward. I loved the opportunity to prepare and teach lessons! We learned about the basic gospel principles such as faith, obedience, prayer, Christ and so on.
