Hi I'm Dori

I'm a political nut, avid sports fan, and family lover. I'm a Temple Square missionary. I will make a difference. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in sunny Southern California. I have wonderful parents and am the youngest of 6 kids. My family is the greatest and even though they're crazy, I love them to pieces! I have this fiery passion for life, politics, acting, singing, and sports. I want to run for President of the United States in 2032 (that is the election year that I will be old enough to run). I would also like to pursue my acting. I have faith that the Lord will help to guide me and have me do what He thinks is right. My future will ultimately depend on what He would have me do. Until then, I am striving to do what is right!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in this Church and have always known it to be true. I would explore different religions but never felt as close to my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ as I do in the Mormon Church. Now unfortunately this doesn't mean that I truly lived it. I think there is a big difference between knowing something is true and really being converted to wanting to live it. For awhile I thought it was "o.k." to stray from my faith because it was seemingly hard to live. It wasn't until I was about 18, at the lowest point in my life, that I sincerely turned my heart over to the Lord and wanted to live His gospel. I felt His hand in my life, bringing me up from the darkness that I was feeling. I knew that He could do more with my life than I ever could on my own. My goals and desires started to change and I no longer wanted to participate in things that would be displeasing to Him. I could feel my life brighten and turn to one with a Higher purpose. I then knew that I not only wanted to but had to live His gospel. It is the most pure and true knowledge I have ever felt. No minor doubt or trial could ever shake my faith in this Church, this Gospel of Jesus Christ. I have prayed to my Heavenly Father and know that it is true through the Holy Ghost touching my heart. This is why I am a Mormon and I couldn't be happier!

How I live my faith

I am called to serve in the Utah Salt Lake City Temple Square Mission. I will return with honor in October 2014! I was also called to serve for 4 1/2 months in the Ohio Cleveland mission. I love both of my missions and they are both such historic and special places in church history. I am extremely grateful and humbled for this opportunity to serve the Lord and my fellow brothers and sisters (that is all of you)! I am very active in the Church and have held many callings varying from teaching my peers to helping organize fun and spiritual activities. I try to live my faith everyday by following the examples of Christ. It's the only way I can stay sane in this ever changing world. From small acts of kindness to large acts of faith, I demonstrate not only my love for my Heavenly Father but my love for His children. One major thing that I always remember is that my faith is not measured by my words but how I live those words and apply them to my life. A life framed with faith in Jesus Christ is a life with everything.
