Hi I'm Austin Chadwick

I am a musician, future missionary, son and uncle. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Austin. I am a current senior about to graduate high school. I LOVE music. Love it. I have played for the pit for all the musicals, including Phantom of the Opera as one of the plays. I play percussion and piano and they have both been such an impact on my life. I have 3 nieces and 1 nephew and they are the best things in the world. I am blessed to have such a great family in my life. I have 4 sisters, 1 brother, and a mom and dad. They are all the best things in my life. If there was one thing that I want people to think of when they think of me is a loving person who has a bottomless bucket of hugs, smiles, and listening ears. And of course, being LDS.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member for His church for almost 11 years now. There is no decision greater than me joining this church. When times of turmoil in my have come in my life, I know that my Heavenly Father is there for me. The miracles of our Heavenly Father above is numberless. The biggest thing in my life is knowing that the Atonement was for me. I know that Jesus Christ, our loving Savior, died for me, was alone literally so I may never be alone. When I feel that no one understands, He has been there. He will always be there. For me, for you, for everyone. The Book of Mormon is true inspiration of God. Have any questions of life? This book addresses all issues. I know that it was translated correctly by our Prophet Joseph Smith. Think about it. How can one man make up over 600 years of people and life events? Its impossible. He used the power of the priesthood to bring the fullness of the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. I have knelt down and prayed after reading the Book of Mormon to know if it was true for myself. I know that it is true. Joseph Smith was in the same situation that you are possibly in. He wanted to know the truth. I urge everyone to never stop searching for the truth through this Gospel. The temple is the house of the Lord. There I have found meaning, peace, and separation of everyday struggles. I urge everyone to go as much as possible. I love this church and the comfort that it gives. The truth is restored and I cannot wait to share with the people of Ghana!

How I live my faith

My current callings are: 1st assistant to the Bishop. This has been both a challenge and a great calling. I have had to reach outside of myself and get to know the young men of my ward. The whole reason of callings is to be able to know others and invite others to come close to not only each other, but enjoy the journey of coming closer to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. My 2nd calling is piano player. I play hymns before we start our meetings. There are all sorts of songs that I play. Before I pick a song, I study the meaning and the scriptures that inspire our great hymns so that the message is more deliberate and spiritual. Playing piano is one of my biggest testimonies in my life. The message of music reaches to everyone in different ways. It has saved my life numerous times in my life. I have played piano competitively for about 14 years now. I have played everything from Chopsticks to Bach's Well Tempered Clavier. When I first was asked to reach this call I thought it would be simple. NOPE. Learning a new song every week has been quite the challenge. My last calling is full-time missionary. I have been called to serve in the Ghana Kumasi Mission. When I first read that call I lost my breath. I was crying my eyes out. I knew that deep in my heart that I was needed there. There are people in Ghana that need to hear my testimony. I will be leaving August 22nd and I report at the Ghana MTC August 23rd. Serving a mission is the greatest sight of humility for me. I am honored to serve my Heavenly Father and be a representative of Jesus Christ to the country in Ghana.

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

Austin Chadwick
I love this question! Throughout seminary, we have lessons on how to have a stronger marriage. The message has always been the same. think of a triangle. A triangle has three sides with one always pointing up. The way that I see it, is if you put Jesus Christ up at the top, and then put you and your spouse at the other corners. If you were both moving towards Jesus Christ, you will both become closer making a stronger marriage. This is a PROMISE from Heavenly Father. He becomes bound and will bless your lives and families. If you both come unto Jesus making a Christ centered home, you will both become closer as well. Show more Show less
