Hi I'm Carliann Udall

I'm from Las Vegas, NV. I served a mission in Bulgaria. I'm going to school to be an elementary school teacher. And, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

All my life I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Being a member of this religion has made me who I am. In my family, we have all been really big sports fans. We love to watch it, play it, coach it. One thing that my parents implemented in our lives however, is that we would never play or watch sports on Sundays. This has helped me live my religion more obediently. Sports led me to be more involved in high school, and I loved every minute of it. I was able to earn money during high school by babysitting. Babysitting is one of my favorite things to do because I love children. They are so perfect and adorable. I am excited to some day be able to raise a family of my own. I have often been told that I have a very nurturing quality about me. On my sports teams I was even nicknamed "Mama Bear". I attented BYU Provo for a year before I decided to embark on this journey of serving a mission. I was studying Early Childhood Education, and I look forward to continuing that when I return. I could not be more pleased with the choice I made to attend Brigham Young University. This decision I have made to serve my Father in Heaven for 18 months in the the Bulgaria Sofia Mission is the best choice I have made in my life. I know the church is true and I want to share it with the world. It is a huge sacrifice to leave everything behind, but if this means I can bring everlasting joy and eternal life to others through the Savior Jesus Christ, it is worth it!

Why I am a Mormon

For my whole life I have been a member of this church. I always knew the church was true. Just knowing wasn't enough however. The experiences and opportunities I had in my life helped me to gain a stronger testimony. During this time, I made a decision that I knew who I wanted to be. In high school, I was truly converted to this church. Countless times in my life I have felt the spirit testify to me that this church is true. I am a Mormon because I have received a witness for myself that my Savior lives. I know that Jesus Christ atoned for my sins and that through Him, I can live with my family for eternity. I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God and that he translated the Book of Mormon by the power of God. I know the Book of Mormon to be the word of God and I cannot deny it. The knowledge that I have about the opportunity to live with my family forever after this life is unbelievable, and I do not want to give that up for anything in the world. I have seen the joy and happiness that this gospel has brought to not only my life, but the the lives of so many others as well. I could never deny the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ. As my testimony has grown stronger, I no longer believe in coincidences, I believe that Heavenly Father has a plan for everyone and He will guide me in everything I do. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church. My testimony and the witness of the truth that the Spirit has testified to me is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I was once told that being a member of this church is not just a way of believing, but it is a way of living. I have made it a point to make sure that I live each day in accordance with the teachings of the gospel. I know this church is true and I want to be an example to those whom I come in contact with. Some ways that have helped me to live my faith have been through the callings that I have received over the past years. Through my callings, I have been able to better serve the friends and family in my ward and stake. I have been on committees to help plan events for the youth. Having opportunities such as these has allowed me to come closer to Christ and become more like Him. I know this church is true and the calling to serve a mission will be one of the best ways that I can be an example to others and to live my faith. On my mission I will bear witness that our Savior, Jesus Christ, lives and loves each of us. I will invite others to come to a knowledge of God's plan for us and of the atonement of our Lord and Redeemer. I am so grateful for this opportunity to serve so that I can more fully live my faith.
