Hi I'm Maki

I grew in Hawai'i. I'm a Dancer. I'm a volleyball/ soccer player. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to dance. It's a way to express your individuality, emotions, and freedom all mixed into one. It's been a real passion of mines, since High School graduation. I have really come to really love it. It is apart of me that I can share with others. We all have our different talents. We all start from somewhere. Although we all have our different talents, ability, and starting point, I have come to realize something. It starts from the small and simple things. We shouldn't have this expectation that when we first start out that things need to be perfect, but know that slowly but surely all things will fall into place. Start with the small and simple things and then slowly but surely everything else will pick up. It is through error that we can learn and grow.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been born and raised into the Church. I never really appreciated membership in the church as I was growing up. Essentially everybody is a convert to the church. Even those who are born in church have to at one point become converted themselves. I am so glad for membership to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have been able to establish a real relationship with God and our Saviour Jesus Christ. I'm grateful for the knowledge to know God's great plan of happiness for us. To know that families can be together forever even in the life to come.

How I live my faith

I have come to really grow close to God as I have served as a missionary in the Japan Fukuoka Mission. I have learned so many lessons here on the mission that I would not have learned anywhere else. What a blessing it is to see the many miracles in our lives today. It does not have to be big to be a miracle. It could be small. I give my thanks to God for all the many blessings and mercies he has given me. My relationship with Jesus Christ also plays a big role. Isn't it a blessing that through Jesus Christ we are able to receive through his grace, the strength to overcome all of our trials and obstacles in our daily life.
