Hi I'm Josh Hinkle

Tennis Coach. Business Student. Mormon.

About Me

I was a missionary in Maryland for a couple years. I am now a college student studying and hoping to one day own my own business. I volunteer in the temple and enjoy serving in my local congregation. I work as a tennis coach and love the tennis community. I'm the guy who's always got stuff going on. Love to be outside and love to be with people. Life is good.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I know that Jesus is the Christ and our loving Heavenly Father restored the fullness of His gospel through a prophet by the name of Joseph Smith. Now God continues to lead us through a modern day prophet who is the president of our church, President Thomas S. Monson. I can testify that Christ lives and we can rely on him as we face the challenges of life. I know that by looking to Jesus Christ and living the principles of the restored gospel we will find great happiness and good success. I know these things to be true from my own experience and by the power of the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

The things I believe shape who I am as a coach and player on the tennis court, how I do business, and how I spend my free time. I have spent a lot of time on the tennis court. I have faced so many challenges on the court which have taught me about myself and prepared me to handle similar life challenges. As a coach, its my goal to pass on what I've learned and to help my players rise to the big occasion and play their best. Even more satisfying than my own big wins is seeing my players use what I've taught them and play their best. I have worked hard to learn the game of tennis and enjoy teaching others to play it well. I see the gospel of Jesus Christ as the way for us to perform at our best in life. It is the foundation of my mental game and coaching philosophy. I believe the purpose of business is to help people. When Christ was on the earth everywhere he went he was adding value to the world around him. I look work as an opportunity to provide value to people around me. I ask the questions "What can I bring to the table here?", "How can I make this situation better?" Approaching work with a "how can I serve?" mindset give me the energy to stay focused. Not only does Christ's gospel change how I play, coach, and work, but it adds a lot to my life. I am in church every week and enjoy serving in the ward. I am happy to be there and find myself making good friends with those I attend with. I find time to attend the temple and enjoy that very unique moment of quiet communion. Its rare I can get away from the world and my responsibilities, but I enjoy the solitude the temple provides. I enjoy the time I can spend with family and friends. I believe that all of the opportunities I have come into and all the good things in my life are a gift from God. I am grateful for all He has given to me, but the icing on the cake is the knowledge I have of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Looking through the lens of the gospel just makes everything a little bit better.
