Hi I'm Garrett

The Gospel of Jesus Christ has changed my life and made me a better person. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I'm currently going to college where I can hopefully become a registered nurse and help people heal from the medical ailments. I am very active and enjoy all types of physical activities. I served an LDS mission in Torreon Mexico and it has changed my life. Not a day goes by that I don't think of the lessons I learned during those two years. I am engaged and soon will marry the love of my life :)

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was born and raised in an LDS family it took me several years to develop a testimony of my own. During my youth I went off of the testimony of my parents and those who were around me. I lived the standards of the Gospel growing up because it seemed like the right way to live. Then one day I realized that I had never asked God if what I had been doing my entire life was true. I began to want to know if it was all true. I read the scriptures and prayed daily to find an answer. My answer didn't come all at once with some miraculous experience or something like that. I received my testimony little by little and step by step as I studied the Gospel. I gained a testimony of the Gospel and of Jesus Christ through the power of the Atonement. Through the mistakes I have made in my life I have seen and felt the happiness that comes through repentance and obedience to the commandments. I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It has changed my life. I KNOW without a doubt that Jesus Christ is my Savior. He can heal us and lead us down the path to find true happiness.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to always be an example to those who are around me, by showing my love for the Gospel and for Jesus Christ by my actions

What is faith?

Garrett
For me Faith is something very simple yet very complex. It is believing or hoping for things which we cannot see but that we know are true. Faith is having a hope that good will come out of things if we are obedient to the commandments. Faith is trusting the Lord. In the Book of Mormon it teaches us that faith is like a seed. If we plant a seed and nourish it then it will grow. Our faith is the same, we must plant the desire to know the truth into our hearts, then we must nourish it with prayer and scripture study. If we do these things that seed of faith will grow and we will be blessed with the fruits of our faith. Show more Show less
