Hi I'm Alex

I am from Minnesota. I am a convert. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay at home mom of a beautiful little boy and my husband is completing his surgical residency. I got married in October of 2014 and love my little family that consists of my husband, son, dog and I. I am still working on what I want to do with my life but I am not worried. I know that as long as I am open to opportunities that come my way and Heavenly Father will bring me where he wants me. I converted to the church in 2013 from Catholicism and while I cherish my catholic upbringing, I know that this church is true.

Why I am a Mormon

While I was in high school I met some people who, I didn’t know at the time, would change my life forever. These people were my friends Riley,Jordan and Marisa. They were the first Mormons that I had ever met. As I hung out with them I began see God and the scriptures work through them and into my life. I saw a light in them that I did not recognize at the time but it was Holy Spirit preparing me. Soon it was time for college and I flourished at the U and had everything I wanted. However, among all of this I lost something very important, God. I had stopped going to church and was only praying when I needed something. One day I was walking and a missionary stopped me and gave me a card saying the time and place for church. I seriously re-evaluated my life. I could tell something was not right. I realized that I wanted to be like my friends in high school; Riley,Jordan, and Marisa. The next Sunday I went to church, the missionaries came up to me during church and asked me, why did you come here? I answered, this might sound weird but I want to be like a Mormon. They spent the next two months teaching me how to be a Mormon and how to follow Christ and enter back into his presence that I had been longing for. My parents did not understand but they were as supportive as they could be. Even though they didn’t come on March 30th I was baptized and at my baptism, although I missed them, I realized that I had a new family and people that loved me enough to come. I felt the Lord’s presence so strongly and felt so loved. The Holy Spirit has been on a mission in my heart to lead me to this church. I can testify that this church changes lives; it changed mine. Through prayer I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet, I know that Jesus Christ died for our sins and that God is our heavenly father. Most of all I know that this, the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is God’s restored church on earth and that it is the true church. I say all of this in Jesus’ name. Amen

How I live my faith

I have not been in my ward for very long yet but currently I am a visiting teacher and I am on the activities committee for the Center for Young Adults. I can't wait to get more opportunities to be active at church.
