Hi I'm Katie

I grew up on a farm. I have seven younger siblings. I'm a Mormon and I love it!

About Me

I am the oldest of eight children. I grew up on a dairy and like to help feed the calves. I learned how to play piano and the flute and would love to learn the harmonica. I love to get lost in the music as it rejuvenates me. In my spare time, I enjoy being outdoors; camping, hiking, riding horses, playing with my siblings, or sitting in a lawn chair and enjoying a good book are just a few of my favorites. I love the shadows of clouds and the smell of sagebrush in the rain. I went to a college in Utah were I am working on a major in Landscape Architecture. I love plants, puzzles, and seeing how things go together. When I am feeling creative, I like to experiment with different ways to prepare food.

Why I am a Mormon

I love being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I find peace when I follow the commandments and attend church. In trying times, I can turn to the Book of Mormon and find guidance and encouragement. I know that this life is not the only thing. But rather that we existed before we came to Earth and that death is not the end. I can feel that I am more than just a body but also a spirit of eternal nature and it can not cease to exist by death. I love to see the tender mercies the Lord has given me which strengthen my faith in Him. I know He knows who I am and what I need even when I don't understand His ways. I know that as I live worthily and repent, I can have the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost which helps direct my path, give warning, and comforts me when I am weak. I know the Church is true and it is a great way to live and be happy.

How I live my faith

When I live how I believe, I am happier so I try to do it every day. I exercise patience towards those around me and be friendly to those I come in contact with. I LOVE service and try to participate in as many service activities as I can. Because I am striving to be more like Christ, I strive to be more forgiving. I participate in the responsibilities I am given in the Church such as visiting the women in the area. I look up to my parents a lot and show them the respect they deserve. I express gratitude when I can for whatever reason I can find. It might be for helping me to my car or for spending time with me.
