Hi I'm Hayley Harris

I am 18 years old and I have grown up in Utah. I will soon be headed out as a sister mission for Calgary Canada.

About Me

I have just completed my freshman year of college. What an experience! In two weeks I will enter the Provo MTC to train for my mission as a sister missionary. I am so excited to go out and give a whole 18 months to the people of my mission and to the Lord. My favorite things are completing things on my bucket lists, spending time with friends and family, eating peanut butter, reading my scriptures and being able to feel of the spirit, listening to music, spending time in the temple, trying new things, and just living life the way I love to. Even though I don't take classes anymore I enjoy Hula dancing. I also love learning about different cultures. I think people are so cool!

Why I am a Mormon

I love being Mormon. I have grown up in this religion, my parents have taught me the doctrine and teachings of this church since I was a child. I have also grown up in Utah where there are many other Mormons so it's been nice to have that support, but that doesn't mean I follow the teachings of this church blindly. I have taken the time to really understand everything the LDS church teaches and after all the positive and negative comments I've heard about it I have decided for myself that this "gospel" is true. The way it makes me feel and how much joy it brings into my life would not be possible without it. The feeling the spirit brings is like nothing you have ever felt before. I know through studying the scriptures and taking the time to talk to my father in heaven that this is real. It means everything to me!

How I live my faith

I have had a couple different chances to serve in the LDS church. Being able to serve has really strengthened me as a leader, friend, and as a dependable and reliable person. My most recent calling in church was to be on a committee that organizes and plans events for the young single adults in the church. We planned dances, service projects, and devotionals. These events we planned are a good way to feel the spirit and make new friends. Since I am leaving on a mission soon I have been released from that calling in church. I can't wait for my mission though. It is going to be such a time of growth and leaning unto the Lord.
