Hi I'm Stacie

I grew up in Utah. I'm a runner. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student currently and I'm going into Secondary Math Education so I want to be a high school math teacher. However, I will be taking a break from school for the next 18 months as I have been called to serve as a missionary!! This also includes taking a break from running. I run cross country and track for my university and running is one of my passions! I hope to be able to coach high school track and cross country as well. I love doing many things including reading, hiking, playing the piano, cooking, and just being in nature. I love life basically!!!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church. My parents were members their whole life and their parents before them and so on. Simply growing up a Mormon and being a part of it since birth isn't enough though. That's not why I'm a Mormon. I think as I entered my teens I realized that I truly had to know for myself if this was God's church. It wasn't enough to lean on my parents' testimonies. I needed to know for myself else why should I keep living this life? Now, you may be expecting some huge revelation but it was quite opposite in fact. I can't say exactly when I knew because it came slowly and it came in pieces. It took years in fact. I'd be doing my regular scripture study at night and I'd suddenly understand some verse in a new way. Other times I'd get a small feeling of the truth of what I'd just read. I'd also be in church and would often feel the Spirit testify to me that what was being said was true. Slowly but surely it came and I can now testify that I know this is the true church of Christ and that's why I am a Mormon! I know it's true. Being a Mormon has brought me so much happiness! It gives me hope and I can constantly feel the love that God has for me and all of His other children as well! I love this church and I love being a Mormon!!

How I live my faith

I like to live my faith through the small things as well as the big things. I do participate in my church ward by helping to organize activities and I'm also in charge of the music for our Sunday meetings so I pick the hymns and set up special musical numbers as well. Those are some of the bigger things. Some of the small things is what I do in every day interactions. Like smiling and saying hello to strangers, or giving some small act of service to those around me. I also simply like being happy and letting it show! I hope that by these small things it will show others the love that God has for them!
