Hi I'm Cristy

I'm a daughter, a sister, a friend. I dream big, work hard, and love life! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

By day, I work as an administrative assistant. By night, I am a blogger, cook, musician, student, and dreamer. I love setting BIG goals that force me to become more than I currently am. I've lived in several states across the U.S., but currently live in Georgia.

Why I am a Mormon

As a child, I went to church with my family because it was what was expected of me. As I grew and matured, that changed from a requirement to a personal desire, it became my choice. When I was 18, I went away to college. For the first time I was completely on my own, and in many respects I hit rock bottom. It was at this point that I found that I truly had to rely on Jesus Christ and my testimony of His teachings. Living the gospel DAILY became my driving force. No longer was daily righteous living AN option, it was the ONLY option. I found, and continue to find, that living the gospel of Jesus Christ brings me true JOY! I am certainly not perfect and many times lose sight of this goal. I am very critical of myself and often feel I fall short of the person I should be. I am grateful for the Atonement of Jesus Christ that makes it possible for me to repent, to be clean, and to start each day new, and hopefully better than the one before. I choose to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints

How I live my faith

Currently I serve as the organist for the main worship service (Sacrament meeting), and as the music leader for the children's class known as Primary. I enjoy being involved in the music each week, especially working with the children, as music has the ability to bring the Spirit and to teach in a very simple way. I also attend Institute class (a scripture/gospel study class) each week. As a group of 18-30 year olds, we have the opportunity to come together during the week and participate in a class focused on studying the scriptures and helping us develop a closer, personal relationship with our Savior, Jesus Christ.
