Hi I'm Lindsay Pack

I am a Lacrosse player. A student forever. A patriot. I am serving a mission for my church in New Jersey.

About Me

I grew up in Arizona during early childhood and my teen years, and Connecticut during my childhood. Connecticut was so much fun. I loved playing outside in the hills and forests of my backyard. One of my favorite things to do in my backyard was to play on this giant rope swing that my dad made that went off the side of a hill and hang from a huge maple tree. I also loved building snow forts and ice-skating in the winter. I love my family. I am a sister to two other sisters and two brothers. As a family every morning before school we have breakfast and read scriptures. Other things we love doing as a family is play cards, our favorite game is Nertz, it's like group solitaire. We also go hiking and biking together. My little siblings and I love to play Mario Kart together, I like to think I'm the best. We also like watching Marvel cartoons and Doctor Who, it’s a bit nerdy but so great. I love the outdoors, sports, and the sun. In high school I played Lacrosse. I was a goalie most of the time, the rest of the time I played low attack. I was the top goalie in my division in state one season, and another season as goalie my team went to a won the State Championship! During the winter I grew up skiing, and more recently snowboarding. They are both so different and so much fun. I also love rock climbing, repelling, recreational biking, sand volleyball, swimming, wake boarding, boat tubing, hiking occasionally, skeet shooting, and many other things.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I see how living the gospel blesses my life and the lives of so many others. Through the gospel we are able to hear from living prophets that can help lead us to Christ. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior. He performed the Atonement for all those that have lived and will ever live. I am eternally grateful. I know that my Father in Heaven is a Just and Merciful God. He gave His Son so that we could have the chance to choose to return to Him in faith. I know that through the Atonement Jesus Christ suffered all the things I have and will ever suffer. This is a great comfort to me at all times, but especially in times of struggle. If I am ever having a hard time with anything, school, friends, family, temptations, I know that I can ask the Father in His name and He will know how to comfort and inspire me to overcome my struggles. I also know that He can help me to serve Gods children in their times of struggle because He knows what they need to lighten the load and comfort them. When I think of Christ performing the Atonement I think of all the pain and sorrow He must have felt and seen, and then I also think of all the great and joyful things that He witnessed as well. I like to think that in serving those around me, brightening and lightening their day and load a little I am, in turn lightening the Saviors. I know this is true in the instance that is spoken of in Mosiah 2:17 And behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God. I love my God and Savior and I want to live my life to the best I can so I can live with them again and experience the joy and growth that we are meant to on this earth. Nephi 2:25 25 Adam fell that men might be; and men are, that they might have joy. Moses 1:39 For behold, this is my work and my glory—to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man.

How I live my faith

Living my faith started in the home. I was raised in a strong LDS family. We have Family Home Evening every week, and scriptures and breakfast every morning. I also attend church, try to fulfill my callings, and attend the temple regularly. I read the Book of Mormon each year trying to find different things to study, this year (2013) I am marking the four first principles of the gospel, which are faith, repentance, baptism, and enduring to the end. I have also studied and the Old and New Testament. What I try to take from all scripture that I read are examples of how to live from the prophets, those around them, and most importantly my savior and redeemer Jesus Christ. I try to emulate the perfect example of Christ in my life. Another way I live my faith is by serving a mission for the Church. I am serving in New Jersey for around 18 months. I am so excited to have the opportunity to share the gospel, and bring people to Christ and the fullness of the gospel.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

Lindsay Pack
Studying the scriptures helps me to read about how prophets and those around them followed the example and commandments of Christ like I want to. The scriptures, especially the Book of Mormon, help me learn about my Savior Jesus Christ and how to become like Him. Show more Show less
