Hi I'm Danny

Am a Mormon, I grew up in Calabar, Nigeria. I love poetry. I love meeting people and making friends!

About Me

My name is Daniel, I am a computer science major at BYU - Idaho. I love playing and watching soccer. I love learning about computers and programming. I love good old country music. I love being around people and sharing ideas.

Why I am a Mormon

All my life I always wondered "why this life" why did God bother creating us, why should we suffer or feel pain, why should we live by certain rules. Being a member of the church has helped resolve these concerns, I have come to know and understand heavenly father personally. I have come to know of truths that were not known to me before. Me and my family were members in the Church of Christ. We knew about heavenly father and what it takes to be saved but being a Mormon has helped me get clearer insights on these things. My dad was the first to join the church, he was taught in the hospital after he had an accident. my dad's conversion alone was a testimony to me of the truthfulness of the church. it took quite a long time for me to join the church. I was not taught by the full time missionaries but after prayerfully reading the testimony of the prophet Joseph Smith I received my testimony of the truthfulness of the message. I resisted the promptings to get baptized because I was afraid of criticism by friends and neighbors. After going to church and witnessing my elder brother's baptism a received a greater confirmation and was baptized two weeks later. Two years after my baptism I had the desire to serve a full time mission and am grateful I'll be going to serve the Lord with my elder brother. Family has become better, there is peace, love and unity in my family now as we hold prayers and home evenings. I know with all my heart that the church of Jesus Christ of latter-day saints is the Lord's true church restored on earth through the prophet Joseph Smith. I have studied The Book of Mormon before my conversion seeking to find fault in it but I Holy Ghost has testified to me of its truthfulness and I can NEVER deny what I have come to know, even at gun point. I love being a Mormon because I know its where the Lord wants me to be. Living gospel principles, reading the Book of Mormon and the Bible and striving to be better has made me be closer to heavenly father.

How I live my faith

I teach in the young men class in my ward and also in seminary. I am a ward missionary also and work with the full time missionaries when am free. I love community service work in my ward and stake. Its a great experience to be able to serve the Lord in y own little way and I hope to do better!

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Danny
We believe the Bible to be the word of God as long as its translated correctly, we use the Bible in church meetings as well as The Book of Mormon and other scriptures. Show more Show less
