Hi I'm Joslyn

Upbeat small-town girl being a missionary in CA; enjoying life because it is SO good! And hey! I'm a Mormon! ;)

About Me

Fun, creative, and full of flavor! If my amazing family is involved, then I'm there! I'm all about sports, adventure, and education. Living life to the fullest and as close to God as possible is the name of the game. I love to fill my time with meaningful activities. Always changing and trying to improve. Hit me with your best shot and I'll hit you with mine.

Why I am a Mormon

Hey the book is blue and the church is true! I know it! I came to know it was true when I was a junior in high school. The end of that year I had a moment in my life when I realized that I would soon be moving out of the house and not be able to rely on my parents' testimonies anymore. I wasn't living to my full potential or in a way that would make God or myself very happy. I knelt down in prayer and asked my Heavenly Father for forgiveness and what I needed to do. After which I knew within my heart the things that I needed to do to make things right again. So I began. I asked the Lord and others for forgiveness - which wasn't easy. I had to swallow a lot of pride and worrying about what others would think. But afterwards, I felt God's love for me, I felt my family's love for me, and most of all, I felt God's presence in my life more than ever before and HE let me know that this church is true and what I was doing was right. I began reading the Book of Mormon and inquiring from the Lord if it's true - and He let me know that it is. I have never been happier and I know why. But answers don't just come, you've gotta ask with full sincerity for it! You Gotta WANNA! ... Bad! And then you have to act. That's right, you have to A - C - T and read and pray!

How I live my faith

I'm serving a full-time mission right now. Here in California, we (my companion and I) go from door to door and talk to everyone we see - sharing with them this goodness that we have! We share with others this message of Christ's restored church. So day in and day out we meet with people and teach them about Jesus Christ and how they can come closer to him. We also do service. Out here on the mission I have helped a Methodist church create a Nativity walk for Christmas, participated in helping men and women with yard work, house work, cleaning cars and doing family history. Basically there are endless opportunities for service to everyone and where there is an opportunity, we jump in. :D Even after my mission I plan to help others and show them Christ-like love by my words and actions so that hopefully they will grow to want to know Him better.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Joslyn
Of course not! The church endorses many people who are not Mormon. In fact, we have donated more that $1 billion in cash and material assistance to 167 different countries in need. Besides the material means that we have helped with, our church believes that every single individual should at least have the opportunity to come unto Christ. We want this for them because we know what happiness and joy it has brought us. Thus, we want to share that happiness with the rest of the world. Show more Show less
