Hi I'm Easton

I grew up in the Midwest. I run track and cross country for Brigham Young University. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the suburbs of Detroit and Chicago. I come from a family of 5, composed of my parents, my older and younger brothers, and me. I love sports, especially running. I started running in 8th grade, ran throughout high school, and currently run track and cross country for Brigham Young University in Provo, UT. My major at BYU is economics; I don't know how that's going to translate into a career yet, but I've still got a few years to figure it out. Although I'm not studying music in college, I love to play the piano and compose my own music. I am currently serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Brazil Sao Paulo Interlagos Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

The teachings of the LDS Church make sense to me and satisfy my innate longing for purpose and direction. The LDS Church teaches that God is our loving Father who dwells in Heaven and that He sent us, mankind, to the Earth to receive physical bodies and to be tested to see if we would choose to be obedient to His commands. If we are faithful, we believe we will return to His presence in Heaven, receive everything that is His, and live Eternally with our faithful family members. These and other teachings of the LDS Church imbue my life with a certain wholeness, meaning, and direction that are essential to the person that I am and without which, I would feel utterly lost. The LDS Church also gives me the opportunity to serve others. Much is expected of members of the LDS Church, but these opportunities to serve bless the giver just as much as the receiver. We are proud to be Christian and we strive to show it by emulating the Savior in all that we do. I find satisfaction and happiness as I seek to improve the lives of those around me and being a member of the LDS Church creates opportunities for me to do that. The teachings of the LDS Church have touched my life in a profound and spiritual manner. As I have studied the teachings of the LDS Church, pondered their meaning, and prayed, asking my Heavenly Father to know if they are true, their verity has been confirmed to me by the Spirit of God. I have come to know that they are true and I will never deny them.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by living the standards of my church, serving those around me, and bringing others to Christ. I strive to... 1. Be 100% honest and fair. 2. Assist those in need by serving them and by fasting once a month, giving at lest the value of the food and drink I choose not to consume as a donation to the needy in my area. 3. Show respect for those around me regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, belief, or social or economic standing. 4. Strengthen and assist my family members and friends. 5. Live a healthy lifestyle free from alcohol, tobacco, illegal drugs, coffee, tea, and any other harmful, addictive substance or practice. 6. Live God's law of sexual purity, that is to refrain from doing anything to arouse sexual feelings before marriage and to be completely faithful to my spouse when I do get married, including refraining from pornography. 7. Assist in administering the LDS Church in my area. 8. Perform family history research and temple ordinances vicariously for my ancestors, allowing those who did not have the opportunity to receive these temple ordinances in this life to do so in the next. 9. Live the Law of Tithing, which is to give 10% of my income to the LDS Church. 10. Share my faith with those around me in a respectful, dignified manner. 11. Be an advocate of freedom, justice, and equality in my community, my country, and the world. 12. Feel and show gratitude for the blessings granted to me by God and the sacrifice of others on my behalf.
