Hi I'm Lexi Hanshaw

I am a daughter, a sister, a friend, an athlete, a photographer and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a young adult. I am serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have been out since June of 2013. I love my mission! I am so blessed to be able to stand as a witness of Christ and represent him on a daily basis. There is nothing better I could be doing at this time in my life. I am studying photography and business. Why not make a hobby of photography into a career? I am the oldest of six kids, the youngest being two years old-3 boys and 3 girls. I love my family. They are one of my most prized possessions. I enjoy exercise and outdoor activities. I believe in the power of smiling!

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to be Mormon. I was raised in a Mormon family where I was taught standards and morals that I live by to this day. I am so grateful for my upbringing. In High School I was known as the "Mormon Girl" and was respected for it. I enjoyed being known as a teenager who was trustworthy who had values and high standards. I choose to be a member of His church because it always brings me joy and happiness as I follow the teachings of Christ as well as our church leaders. I know that this Gospel is true and that it is the only true church on the earth. What a bold statement, I know. I have searched, pondered and talked with my Heavenly Father about it. I will never deny that knowledge that I have received from him. I invite you to do the same, to search, ponder and pray about the message of the Restoration and to read the Book of Mormon. It will enlighten your understanding of who God is and the love that he has for you individually as a child of God. There is not greater blessing in this life!

How I live my faith

As a missionary I represent my Savior. I "invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the Restored Gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and his Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost and enduring to the end." I search to help those who have been prepared by the Lord to hear this message of the Restoration and to understand and feel of the power it possesses. It holds the ability to change lives, give peace and comfort, assist us through the help of the Holy Ghost, and draw us closer to our Savior Jesus Christ. I am blessed to be able to meet so many wonderful and unique people, whether they are members of this church or not. I am able to get to know them on a very personal and spiritual level. It is a wonderful opportunity I have to learn from these amazing individuals and to assist them in anyway that my Father in Heaven would have me. I also live my faith by being obedient to the guidelines my Heavenly Father has blessed all of us with. Obedience brings liberty, strength and happiness. This simple concept of obedience reminds me of a scripture found in the Book of Mormon. "I would desire that you should consider on the blessed and happy state of those that keep the commandments of God. For behold, they are blessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual; and if they hold out faithful to the end they are received into heaven that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of neverending happiness" (Mosiah 2:41).
