Hi I'm Gwen

I'm from Alabama. I love to help others and do volunteer work. I'm proud to be a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving a full-time mission in Spokane,WA. I love serving the Lord. I am grateful to be serving a mission, to help others find the same happiness the gospel has brought into my life. I love the Lord and I love being a small part of His work.

Why I am a Mormon

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints has changed who I am. Understanding the love our Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ have for all of us has blessed me throughout my life. I have a strong testimony of the power of the Priesthood. I know families can be together forever, I know God speaks to man today, and I know that Jesus Christ atoned for every person who ever lived and ever will live. This is the true church, this is the Lord's church. I am forever grateful to loving parents and to a loving Heavenly Father who help me become better every day.

How I live my faith

This gospel is a gospel of action. That's what the church is all about; actively doing what's right. Christ said for us to be "doers of the word." (James 1:22) Serving others is a way I like to "live my faith." When I am serving others I know I am really serving God. (Mosiah 2:17) Other ways I live what I believe include; doing the things God would have me do, living the way Jesus Christ lived and being a good example to those around me in word and in deed. (1 Timothy 4:12)

What is faith?

Faith is an action word. Faith is not to "have a perfect knowledge of things," but to "hope for things which are not seen, which are true." (Book of Mormon; Alma 32:21) Many people struggle with faith simply because it is challenging to have faith in something you cannot see. Finding faith in Christ and in his gospel doesn't come to someone over night. Faith is also a journey. Sometimes it's a long road to take, but if we are patient with ourselves and if we diligently seek the truth, then faith in those truths will come. When someone has faith in God, it doesn't mean that sometimes they don't wonder why God does certain things, but it means that they trust in God's plan for them. Show more Show less

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Every day I wake up. There is no way I would wake up every day still breathing and still thinking if there were no God. The very existence of life on this earth prooves to me that there is a loving Heavenly Father who watches over his creations. When I pray to my Father in Heaven I know and I feel that he is listening. Sometimes it is hard to feel the existence of God, but if we stop and ponder, looking at the world that surrounds us it becomes easier to clearly see the presence of a greater being.
