Hi I'm Lexy Smith

I grew up in Boise Idaho. I'm serving a mission in New Mexico. I love science and jazz music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm serving a mission in the Albuquerque New Mexico Mission. Before my mission I was studying at BYU. During the summers when I'm not at school I teach swimming lessons. I love being in and around the water. I also LOVE jazz music. I'm constantly baking new treats. Someday I want to go to Morocco.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the only church that contains the fullness of the gospel on this earth. I have had the Holy Ghost testify to me time and time again that this church is true. Although many believe that the gospel and science are not compatible I find the gospel helps me to better understand the world that our Heavenly Father has created for us. I have read the Book of Mormon several times and every time I read it I am filled with peace. Peace that is only found through following the commandments and trying to become more like Jesus Christ. I am on a mission because I know that this is what the Lord wants me to do at this time in my life. I’m so grateful for the Atonement because I am not a perfect person, but through the Atonement I can become better and more like the Savior. I know that the prophets and apostles are prophets of God and that they speak for Him. I am so grateful for the counsel that they give us. I know that Joseph Smith is a prophet of God and that God had him restored the church in these the latter days so that we could have a way to come unto Christ. I am so grateful for the gospel. I bear witness of this in the name of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by following the counsel of modern day prophets, participating in church meetings, attending and participating in church activities and giving my time to fulfill church assignments. My last calling was being a teacher in the women’s organization of our church. I had the privilege of preparing lessons through prayer and study so that I could teach the women in my ward. Although at times I felt inadequate the Lord gave me the strength I needed to serve in that position. I am currently serving a full time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I am serving in the Albuquerque New Mexico Mission and loving every minute of it! I live my faith by doing the small things, prayer and scripture study. Throughout my mission these have become some of my favorite parts of the day. These small acts help me to come closer to the Savior Jesus Christ and God our Father. Through the Atonement I am becoming a better person and more like the Savior.

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

Lexy Smith
Receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost means you can have it's guidance, peace and cleansing power in your life all of the time, as long as you live up to your end of your baptismal covenant. This has become such a blessing in my life because I know that as long as I am living worthily of the Holy Ghosts guidance I can pray and God will answer me through the Holy Ghost. I have felt it's peace so many times throughout my life. Whenever I have big decisions to make I always take them to the Lord and He teaches me through the Holy Ghost. Show more Show less
