Hi I'm Heather

I come from a big, happy family. I love the outdoors and music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love spending time hiking, camping, and enjoying nature with my family or friends. I love to play the piano and sing in choirs, reading, cooking, and visiting new places. Most of all, I love being with my family and with people I love. I am in the middle of my college career, but I am now taking a break for a year and a half to serve as a missionary in the west coast of the United States. I am so happy and excited to serve as a missionary and share truths with others that have brought me so much joy! I want everyone to feel what I have felt and to be able to come unto Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know in my heart that this church is the true church of Jesus Christ, directed by Him today! I am so grateful to know that. Living the teachings of this church has brought me great happiness and peace in my life. I have been able to overcome personal weaknesses and been able to become happier than I knew I could be. God does listen and does communicate to us, His children, in this age and time. Through this church, I know that my family can be together again after death, that there is no difficulty or sorrow in this life that I cannot overcome with the help of Jesus Christ, and I can find peace and comfort in a world where there is so much confusion and sadness.

How I live my faith

I have participated in a special church congregation that is primarily only single, young adults, led by an older and married bishop. Through having a group of only young adults near my age, I have been able to grow through service opportunities and formed many wonderful relationships. I have lived my faith by contributing as a teacher in Sunday meetings in my church group. I have participated in leading a group for women that focuses on service among ourselves and others. I have also had the chance to direct a choir for church meetings where I helped select, prepare, and direct the singing of hymns to help add a good spirit to our meetings and inspire others.

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Heather
To me the Atonement of Jesus Christ is the reason I can have hope through everything we go in life. The word Atonement refers to the sacrifice that Jesus Christ made out of love for us, His brothers and sisters to allow us to be cleansed from our sins and to be able to find peace and joy through this life. Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who came to earth and lived a life without sin. He suffered for the sins of all mankind, in a way that is impossible for us to understand, and gave His life freely for us. I am so grateful that the Savior, Jesus Christ loved us enough to do this for us. The Atonement is not just about allowing us to be cleansed from sin, but it also means that the Savior understands personally how we feel as we go through our experiences in life and knows how to comfort us and help us succeed. Every single one of us makes mistakes and does things that estrange us from our Heavenly Father. Through having faith in Jesus Christ is the only way that we can be forgiven of our sins. I love my Savior Jesus Christ. I know He cares about us individually and is interested in the things that matter to us in our lives. We can pray to know if these things are true and feel of the truth of these things for ourselves. No matter what we may have done, the Savior wants to forgive us and help us change. We can become pure and clean from our sins through putting our faith in Him. Show more Show less
