Hi I'm Nichelle

I am a So.Cal. girl now living in Utah, studying anthropology at USU, and serving in the Tahiti Papeete Mission.

About Me

I am a college student majoring in anthropology, studying to be a forensic anthropologist. I love to read. Some of my favorite books include the Harry Potter series and Little Women. I am an aspiring author, and one day I hope to be published. I love TV and movies; Doctor Who, Disney Movies, Sherlock (BBC), NCIS; just to list a few. I love music. In high school I was in band, choir and musical theatre. In theatre I found a love for behind-the-scenes technical work over on-stage acting. I have served as the sound technician on many school and community productions and have a passion for it, but I still love to sing. I was, also, on my high school swim team as a distance swimmer. For the next year and a half, I am going on a mission to the Tahiti Papeete Mission. I cannot wait to get out there and tell people about our Savior and His gospel!

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up in the church, I always took it for granted. At age eight I chose to be baptized. I remember coming out of the water and feeling as though my soul had just gotten a deep cleaning. At age fifteen, I moved to Utah. Shortly after my sixteenth birthday, my parents divorced. I became depressed, and the long story short, I turned to my Heavenly Father. I started going to church by myself I continued to grow in the gospel until I knew without a doubt this was the true church. I have a testimony. I know this is the true church. I know Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God, and there is a living prophet on the earth today. I know Jesus Christ is our Savior and Redeemer. I know He died for us all so that both the best and the worst of us could repent and come back to live with Him and our Heavenly Parents again. These things I attest to in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

If you read the "About me" section, you probably noticed I like to get involved. At school I attended Institute and sang in the choir. I just finished working as the sound tech for a community production of the Sound of Music. Wherever I go, I like to meet people, share ideas, and have intellectual conversations, especially when it come to gospel topics. I recently served as my student ward's family history instructor. It was as much an introduction to family history for myself as it was to the class participants. Now I have one more thing to be passionate about, and to share with others. Genealogy has become very popular and its easy to talk about with people. It makes a great way to introduce the church into a conversation. At home, I do my best to follow a regular plan of scripture study and prayer. I also try to set the best possible example I can for my three younger brothers.
