About Me

Hi! My name is Katie and I grew up in the United States. I graduated from high school with high honors and am continuing my education at college. I am currently majoring in mechanical engineering, but I am considering changing my major. I am having a hard time deciding what I want to do with my life, because there is so much I want to do. I love learning and I want to help instill in others the desire to learn and gain an education. Someday I want to travel the world and change other people's lives. I have many interests, and I am always open to trying something new. I have spent most of my life attending school and I have not done anything that most people would consider remarkable. However, I feel like my life is more than remarkable, because I have the opportunity and potential to do anything and be anyone. I am happy with who I am and I know that with God I can become something greater. Right now, I am getting ready to serve an LDS mission and I am excited to share my love for the gospel. I look forward to my chance to serve my Heavenly Father and to help feed his sheep. I want to teach people that there is a reason to hope. I want to show them that there is so much good in this world and that they are God's children. I want people to know that they have worth.

Why I am a Mormon

My grandparents and parents are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I grew up in the Church and I was baptized at the age of 8. For years I relied on the testimonies of my parents and siblings, but at the age of 12, I decided that I needed to learn whether or not the Church was true. I read the Book of Mormon and after completing the Book, I took the prophet Moroni's challenge to pray with a sincere heart to see if it was true. After devoted prayer, I did not have any impressions or feelings concerning its truthfulness. After some disappointment, I felt like I needed to read a Journal my father had kept for me. I turned to a page and started reading. After reading about my Grandpa and when he passed away, I realized that I already had my answer. I knew that even though my Grandpa's body had died, his spirit was still alive. I knew that our Savior Jesus Christ broke the chains of death and that someday I would be reunited with my Grandpa. I knew that the Book of Mormon was true and that I would be with my family forever. Years have passed since that experience, but I have seen the Lord's hand in my life so much since then. I am a Mormon because I know that the doctrine that the Church teaches is true. I know that families are forever and that someday I will see my Savior again. I have my own testimony now and there is no way I could ever deny the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. I know that God loves me and all of his children.

How I live my faith

I grew up as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and I have had many opportunities to serve in my church and community. I have been able to serve in many youth presidencies and I have helped organize activities and service projects for other youth in my community. I have been given the chance to seek out those that need help and give them the aid they required. I have learned the importance I think that one of the most important ways I live my faith is by remembering who I am. I am God's child. I try not to lose sight of who I am and who I can someday become. I also try to show other's their heavenly heritage and potential. I try to live my faith by striving to live as Jesus did. I remember that I am God's daughter and I try to live up to that title and expectations. I enter the Missionary Training Center very soon and then I will have the opportunity to share my faith and testimony with thousands of other lives. I try to live my faith by teaching the gospel through my example and actions.
