Hi I'm Jean

I am retired and have a family with two daughters, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I like to make things - baby clothes and so on for the local neo-natal unit. I like the garden although I can't do as much as I once did. I like to visit with my family and go on country outings with my friends.

Why I am a Mormon

My church is the Church of Jesus Christ and being a Christian, I try to live my life as Jesus would have me do. We can't always make the grade but we can follow the example of Jesus and do our best. I was drawn to the Mormon church because I had never before met people who were so committed to living a Christian life and I wanted to be part of it. Ever since I became a member of the church and when after baptism was given the gift of the Holy Ghost, I have listened for the guidance from the Spirit, and this has never failed me. The Holy Spirit has guided my life, been a Comforter when I have needed one and been a constant companion in all I do. There is so much to do in the church, and so many people to do it with, that every day is full of moments to treasure.

How I live my faith

I spend time at church with the children in Primary, especially those of junior school age when we can have our fun evenings of activity that we call ' Faith in God' activities. The children are the future and they can teach us so much. There are a few women friends at the church who I visit every month to make sure they are all right and I'm always pleased when people come to visit me with the same thought in mind. What I really enjoy though, is finding people in the community who are working hard to make the lives of others better, then I can alert the church to give them a Helping Hand. This is the kind of service which brings untold blessings to those who receive and also to those who give. .
