Hi I'm Hillary

Born and raised in Kearns Utah. I LOVE to cook and read good books, and I am a Missionary in Louisville Kentucky

About Me

I love to cook, new recipes are like opening presents on Christmas, but better! Because you cant eat your Christmas presents. I also have a passion for gardening, the joy of planting little brown seeds and seeing them turn into pumpkins or cabbages is the greatest feeling and makes all the hard work worth it. plus you get to eat them when you are done! Trail running and hiking are two of my many favorite ways to see Gods creations. I love climbing rocks and trees to see how high I can get and marvel at the wonderful world we live in. I am young, but not completely ignorant to how hard life can be. Life has not been easy for me I had some difficult medical problems when I was in high school, relying on the Lord for his strength instead of my own quickly failing strength was a valuable but painful lesson to learn. Having faith that God knows what is happening even if you don't is a key part of being happy.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into this religion, and raised in the church. This does not mean I received a free ticket to a testimony, I had to become truly converted to the gospel of Jesus Christ through study and prayer. Part of my faith comes from the fact that my ancestors were early pioneers who crossed the plains in the Willie hand cart company. The fact that they would put everything behind them and push on towards Zion helps me when I come to trials. Remembering the example of my family and their trust in God gives me hope and courage that God cares and is always with us. I love my Savior with all of my capacity, and the more I learn of him the more that love grows. Being a member of this church gives me access to his full gospel message, I better understand what is required of me and how I can serve him. Service is what bring the most happiness in my life. Service to others and service to the lord is how I show him I love him.

How I live my faith

If there is one thing about me that sticks out to other people its that I am always smiling, I have been asked many times why I smile so much, or what makes me so happy. At first this question would stump me, I would answer that I don't know, I am just a happy person. I now have an answer to that question , I know that I am so happy because I have the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life. From the moment I was born I have had loving parents teaching me my eternal purpose. I know what God expects of me and how I can do his will, and when I fallow the teachings of the prophet and practice the truths I have learned from the Book of Mormon I am filled with that light and happiness that I outlet through my smile. I live my faith by being happy in my faith, knowing that it brings the fullness of joy that everyone is looking for. You might find cheap imitations of that happiness that last only for a little while but that is no replacement to the true joy that comes form being righteous.
