Hi I'm Shane

I am a snowboarder. I am an engineering student. I'm a returned missionary. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the Church with a great family that was strong in the church. I served a mission in Mexico (the Puebla North Mission). I am a student at Brigham Young University-Idaho I love math, physics and things of the sort so i decided to be a civil engineering major. I also love the outdoors, snowboarding, camping, and doing other adventurous things.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church. Both my parents are strong active members and they taught me what i needed to know to grow my testimony. But the reason why I am a Mormon is because I made the decision to live what they taught, and for that reason, I know that it is true. I have a very firm conviction that the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is found here.

How I live my faith

I love to meet new people and try to find ways to uplift them. I believe that God sent us to the earth so that we could develop a Christ-like character. I live my faith by actively trying to become more like Christ every day.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Shane
Concerning grace, we share the belief with many other religions that without grace, we cannot be saved. However, we believe that we also need to put in a great effort on our part in order to be saved in the kingdom of God. He can't save us if we do nothing, but through His grace, He will help and strengthen those that work to attain it. What the Lord requires of us is taught and defined in the scriptures. "For we know that it is by grace we are saved after all we can do" (2 Nephi 25:23). Show more Show less
