Hi I'm Nathan

I grew up in Dillon, Montana. I'm an eagle scout and i love to run. I'm a mormon

About Me

I love to run. I was a captain on our High School cross country and distance track teams. I also earned my eagle scout award. Before I found my love of running I was a huge video-gamer. Now that I have graduated I have begun taking college classes. Eventually I plan on becoming a physical therapist.

Why I am a Mormon

I am not very old and yet I know this is the Lord's church. I have seen the blessings it brings into peoples lives, including my own. Throughout school the gospel has helped me to make decisions and steer clear of many of the mistakes my friends and classmates were making. This gospels helps to build strong values as well as develope strong charecter. I know the Lord is more than willing to help those that seek him and ask for it. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is a manifestation of his love for us.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing the best I can at being an example for those around me and my family. I strive to live in such a way that my friends and family can see the joy that the gospel brings into my life.

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

Nathan
The Word of Wisdom is counsel given through a prophet to God's children, us. It is a commandment that prohibits the use of illegal drugs as well as the use of addictive substances or substances that affect our ability to make choices. These include things such as tobacco, alcohol, coffee & tea, and all illegal drugs. This counsel was given in 1833 at a time when scientific research on substances like tobacco and alcohol was nearly non-existent. Today this commandment is supported by scientific findings. Things like tobacco and alcohol are indeed bad for us (as well as other addictive things). This commandment does not just prohibit the use of damaging substances. In addition it counsels us to practice a healthy diet. To eat things in moderation and have a ballanced diet. As we follow this we are promised many blessings. As one might expect you are blessed with a healthier body. We are also promised a clearer mind. When we are not dependant on any substance we are free from the chains of addiction. We are able to make decisions based on what we truly need, not what our body desires. These are just a couple of the many blessings we can experience as a result of following this counsel. Lastly, our bodies are a gift from our Heavenly Father to us. Our body is a place where we are able to feel the spirit. such a holy place should be treated with respect and care. We are responsible for our own bodies. Show more Show less
