Hi I'm Stephen

Grew up in London, left School at fifteen, I am now a retired Electrical Engineer with a great family.

About Me

I was from a poor back ground my father was a truck driver and because of family troubles I was sent to a children's home for five years. Leaving this place and at the age of fifteen I went to work as a laborer and was asked to be an engineer apprentice. Which took many years but was well worth it. I am married to a loving wife and have a lovely family. I worked for fifty years and now I am retired.

Why I am a Mormon

I was Christened in London as a baby. I had studied the Bible since I was twenty one in 1991 I had a difficulty in my life which made me question God. I decided to find the truth or at least the true church of God and His Son. I visited many churches in my quest. I knew what I should expect from my studies of the Bible. Many did have some of the truth but not all the items which I had listed, as taught by Jesus Christ. A line of authority (back to Jesus Christ), baptism by immersion, confirmation for the gift of the Holy Ghost, Sacrament (bread and wine) as directed by Jesus Christ, teachings as given within the Bible, observing the Sabbath Day and keeping it Holy, charity towards others and the love of one another. I believe being a Christian for every hour of the day and not just on Sunday. Family must be key to the plan of salvation. All the items I have been seeking are found in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (nicknamed Mormons)

How I live my faith

Although I am retired that does not stop me talking to others about the church I belong to. I visit the families I am ask to keep contact with as their Home teacher. I attend church every week and partake of the sacrament. I read the Bible and the Book of Mormon every day, this relaxes me and continues with my past studies. I believe we are all children of God and try hard never to judge another. I have been ask by the Bishop to keep the ward informed to events that are happening in the church so I am the Web-specialist (running the newsletter and website)

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?
