Hi I'm Mariah

I'm a lover of life, people, and big dreams. I'm a 21 year old college student, a follower of Jesus Christ, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

First and foremost I consider myself a daughter, sister, friend, and member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, more widely known as the Mormon church. My relationships with my family, with friends, and with God are the most important thing in my life and the true source of my happiness. I am currently a junior in college studying communication disorders with the goal to become a speech pathologist in the future. Currently I work with special education programs for teenagers and love seeing their smiles and watching them grow and learn. I'm a lover of learning, life, and consistant wonderment of the Earth around me. Whether it be a backpacking trip, the newest art exhibit, the local farmers market, or just a night hanging out with my family I'm all for it!! Work hard, play hard.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have gained a knowledge that Jesus Christ does live and that he does love us. I've prayed and received a personal witness that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints is his church and that it holds a fulness of truth. It is in this church and through my own personal relationship with my Heavenly Father and his son that I have found the answers to the most important questions of my life, a knowledge that I am a daughter of God, and a peace in this life that I can't find anywhere else. My love for my savior Jesus Christ has grown and developed by being a member of this church. I choose to be a member because the LDS church teaches me how to become closer to Christ, how to become more like him, and all that I need to do to live with him someday. I have been changed by choosing to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ and have felt the difference in living my life close to him and his gospel versus far from it. I have had times in my life when I have experienced life without the guidance and direction that comes from having faith in Christ and through these experiences I have come to know that he is true light and hope. I know that he is the only way to find true and lasting peace and happiness in this life. He is the answer.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing my best to follow our Savior Jesus Christ. I believe that His teachings still matter today and is God's plan to help us live happy and successful lives of purpose. Because of this I try to apply the teachings of Jesus Christ into my relationship with my family, friends, and co-workers. This includes my commitment to try to love and be kind to those around me, to refuse to eat or drink certain substances that will harm my body, to be sexually abstinent until marriage, to spend quality time with my family, to strive to be active in my community and in my local government, and to be honest. I am not perfect and I make mistakes everyday but I do my best and that's what counts.
