Hi I'm Sala

I am currently a full-time missionary. I love sunshine, the ocean and big dreams. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Hawaii but I am currently a business management student at Brigham Young University in Utah. I have five amazing younger siblings and a couple of awesome parents. I grew up playing soccer all day, every day (except Sundays). I still love the game but what I love even more is helping people. My dream is to someday become a social entrepreneur and travel the world assisting poverty-stricken families overcome their struggles.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I like being happy and living this gospel makes me happy. I was born into the church but I wasn't always so sure about why I was Mormon. As time passed, I exercised my faith and my testimony grew so much. I know now that, among other things, I am a daughter of God and that I can be with Him and my family forever. This knowledge brings peace to my heart and purpose to my life. The Gospel of Christ is one of hope and joy. It has blessed my life and I love it so much!

How I live my faith

Living my faith means being obedient to the teachings of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. When I was younger, I used to think that being a Mormon was so hard, like there were too many rules; it felt like such a sacrifice to follow my Savior. As I have matured though, my eyes have been opened and I have come to understand that all of the blessings in my life are a direct result of my obedience to my Heavenly Father. Things may not always be perfect, but I know that when I choose to try my best to follow my Savior, I can find more joy and happiness and I can be a blessing to others too.
