Hi I'm Haylee Johnson

A runner, an idealist, a Mormon.

About Me

I have a thing for wristwatches, my mom's waffles, and libraries. I believe in living small and using the leftovers for the good things: travel, food, and sheet music. I study at BYU Provo, but am serving as a missionary in Salt Lake City, until my visa comes for Argentina.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it brings the fullness of the Gospel into my life. I have learned that all of my concerns may be addressed and answered within the Church. And I do not say this lightly, nor because others before me have said it. I say it because it's true. This is what brings true joy. I am a Mormon because I know: I know the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored, and that it is here, in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. As a representative of Jesus Christ, I daily have the opportunity to share this. Serving as a missionary, I have never before understood as fully the love Jesus Christ has for each individual as His child. This is His work, to bring every one to a rememberance of what they may become through Jesus Christ. With every testimony comes an invitation: find out for yourself. Read the Book of Mormon, and turn to your Heavenly Father in prayer. "And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost." I know that this promise is real. I have felt the Spirit testifying to me over and over of these truths. It is an open invitation.

How I live my faith

I do not do anything extraordinary. I make mistakes, I trip myself up a lot, but it's the perspective that the Gospel brings your life-I know who I am, and I know where I'm going. I know through the Gospel that everything we have and everything we will become stems from the truth of the love of the Savior. And this is what I seek, to see others as Christ does, to look outward rather than inward. With the help of the Lord, I have learned to appreciate the nuances a lot more. Such brings a different kind of loveliness to all of this, when we can put ourselves aside to better appreciate the intricacies and subtleties of the people around us.
