Hi I'm Ben Raymond

I live in the middle of the Bible Belt in Tennessee. I love my family and I love my life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student currently attending Brigham Young University. I love school because I love to learn new things and I love to learn more about things I'm interested in. I'm studying statistics but what I really love to learn more about and keep updated on is the automobile industry. I love cars -- especially German cars. Another one of my interests is sports. I'm always up for watching sports, but I especially love to play them. My top favorite sports are basketball and tennis. But I'm always up to play any sport and especially with friends!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, or a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, purely from my own choice. I'm 19 and could easily decide this church isn't for me, but I don't because I know the truthfulness of the gospel. I've prayed to know if what I've been taught in church and what I've read from the Book of Mormon is true, and I can honestly say that the doctrine taught in our church is completely true. One thing that is especially important to me about our church is the emphasis on the importance of the family. All of my family members are the most important people in my life, and the times that bring the most happiness to me are the times where my family and I share spiritual moments together. In those moments I can always tell that it's no wonder why the Lord has such a love for families.

How I live my faith

I'm a member of one of the young single adult wards at BYU, and my calling is the second counselor over all the guys in my dorm hall, or in other words, or quorum. Alongside the president, first counselor, and secretary, I lookout for the members of my quorum and make sure things are going well, and try to do whatever I can to help when things aren't going as well for them. Another calling I have is that of being a home teacher. Doing this, my companion and I visit with two girls from the girl's dorm building in our ward. This is a great calling because we are able to teach these girls every month, and we're able to provide our service for them whenever they need it. Another important thing is that I have great opportunities to provide priesthood blessings with proper authority from the Lord, to help those that are sick and those that feel like the pressures in their life are overbearing. Providing service is a huge part of our church, and I always love being able to help those in need.
